Dennis Johnson was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1976 to 1990. He was born on September 18, 1954 in Compton, California, and passed away on February 22, 2007 in Austin, Texas.
Johnson played point guard and was known for his strong defensive skills. He was a five-time NBA champion, winning titles with the Boston Celtics in 1984 and 1986, and with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979. He was also a nine-time NBA All-Star and a member of the All-Defensive First Team three times.
Throughout his career, Johnson played for the Seattle SuperSonics, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Clippers. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
